Bolognese
My mom used this recipe for Christmas dinner and I thought it was great!
Prep time: 5 mins Cook time: 2-3 hours
Ingredients
- 2 Tbs Olive Oil
- 1 Carrot
- 1 Celery Stalk
- 1 Onion
- 1/2 Lbs Ground Beef
- 1/2 Lbs Ground Pork
- 1/2 Cup Dry Red Wine
- 2 Tbs Tomato Paste
- 2 1/2 Cups Tomato Puree (passata)
- 2 Whole Bay Leaves
- 1/3 Cup Milk
Directions
- Finely chop the the carrot, celery and onion.
- Fry chopped vegetables until onion is transparent.
- Add the ground beef and pork and fry until throughly browned.
- Add wine and cook until the liquid has evaporated.
- Decrease the heat to low and add the rest of the ingredients except for the milk.
- Let simmer for 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally.
- Add milk and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
